A fresh NPR 100 banknote has been introduced by Nepal Rastra Bank, entering circulation from today. The note, backed by the Government of Nepal, carries enhanced security and accessibility features.
The note’s design highlights Mount Everest on the left and a rhododendron watermark on the right, with the map of Nepal and the Ashoka Pillar in the center. A tactile black mark helps visually impaired users recognize the note by touch.
On the left, a silver metallic oval portrait of Mayadevi is featured, alongside a color-shifting security thread that changes from red to green depending on the viewing angle. The note bears the signature of the then-Governor, Mahaprasad Adhikari.
This latest NPR 100 note blends cultural symbols with modern security measures, ensuring both authenticity and ease of use.
