The Supreme Cooperative fraud case involving Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chief Rabi Lamichhane and former Gorkha Media head Chhabi Lal Joshi is set for another hearing at the Butwal High Court today. The case, which had been halted last week after Lamichhane’s legal team sought a postponement, has now been rescheduled, according to court information officer Ram Bahadur Kunwar.

He said the previously delayed case has been listed again, and further proceedings will depend on the court’s decision.

Earlier, the Rupandehi District Court had rejected Lamichhane’s bail request on Shrawan 26, stating that his submitted documents lacked sufficient clarity despite presenting proof of partial repayment. Lamichhane then filed an appeal at the High Court on Bhadra 1.

According to the charge sheet, defendants in the Supreme Cooperative case face a collective liability of Rs 109.36 million. Lamichhane has submitted a bank guarantee of Rs 27.48 million, claiming it as his one-fourth share of the total amount. Joshi has also submitted the same amount as bail for his share.
