The minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley has been rising steadily over the past four days.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the temperature in Kathmandu was recorded at 12 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am today. However, this is only a preliminary reading. The official minimum temperature is measured at 8:45 am, and the final figure may change slightly before it is confirmed.
As winter is slowly coming to an end, the cold weather is easing and temperatures are increasing across the country. In Kathmandu, the minimum temperature was 7.9 degrees Celsius last Monday. It gradually rose over the week and reached 10 degrees Celsius by Thursday.
The Division records daily minimum and maximum temperatures at different places across Nepal, including Kathmandu. The lowest temperature recorded in a day is called the minimum temperature, while the highest is known as the maximum temperature. The official minimum temperature is recorded at 8:45 am and the maximum temperature at 5:45 pm.
