Nepali Communist Party co-coordinator and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has announced that he will now step away from active electoral politics. Speaking to journalists on Thursday in his hometown of Gaur, Rautahat, he stated that he has a firm decision not to contest any future elections.

Leader Nepal made it clear that this election will be his last in the political arena. He said he has decided to retire from electoral politics, following the voice of his conscience.

Alongside his announcement to not run in elections, he also shared his plans for the future. He intends to spend his time studying, writing, traveling both domestically and abroad, and engaging in social service activities.

On the same occasion, he described the allegations against him in the Patanjali land case as politically motivated revenge. He accused Nepali Congress leader KP Sharma Oli of plotting a conspiracy to target him. He further claimed that Oli has not only targeted him but also other opposing parties, including the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and has been practicing restrictive politics.

Madhav Nepal is currently contesting the House of Representatives election from Rautahat constituency number 1. A corruption case related to Patanjali Yogpeeth land is currently under consideration in the Special Court against him.
