Janakpur Bolts won a close match against Karnali Yaks by 2 wickets in the Nepal Premier League Qualifier 2 at Kirtipur Stadium.
Batting first, Karnali Yaks scored 118 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. Dev Khanal scored 24 runs, Gulsan Jha added 25, and Unish Thakuri contributed 12 runs. However, their batting lineup struggled to form strong partnerships. For Janakpur, Mohammad Mohsin took 2 wickets for 14 runs, James Neesham took 2 wickets for 30 runs, and Lalit Rajbanshi took 2 wickets for 22 runs to restrict Karnali to a modest total.
Janakpur faced an early setback in their chase, losing three wickets with just 9 runs on the board. James Neesham turned the game around with a powerful innings of 45 runs off 17 balls, hitting 2 fours and 5 sixes. Sher Malla remained not out with 16 runs and helped the team finish the chase in 19 overs.
Karnali's bowler Bipin Sharma impressed with 3 wickets for 17 runs, but Janakpur’s lower-order batsmen held their nerves to secure the victory. With this win, Janakpur Bolts stay in the race for the Nepal Premier League title.
