Former Foreign Minister and Secretary of the CPN-UML, Raghuveer Mahaseth, has stated that India should not raise objections when Nepal signs the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) cooperation agreement with China.
Speaking at an interaction program in Kathmandu on Friday, he emphasized that both Nepal and India could benefit from the BRI projects.
Mahaseth claimed that the BRI would open new avenues for Nepal's overall development. According to Mahaseth, the BRI should be viewed as a message that will benefit both Nepal and India.
