India has stated that it is ready to collaborate with the government that represents the people of Afghanistan.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has reported that they are willing to cooperate with Afghanistan's government in areas such as development partnerships and humanitarian aid. According to the Indian news agency ANI, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri recently met with Afghanistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi. This has been interpreted as India trying to expand its relations with the Taliban, which is currently in power in Afghanistan.
The spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jayswal, confirmed that the meeting took place between the representatives of the two countries in Dubai. Randhir described it as a high-level meeting between these countries. The Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021, and since then, they have not been able to establish significant diplomatic relations.
