The export of processed soybean and sunflower oil to foreign countries has surged through the Birgunj border of Parsa in the first six months of the current fiscal year.
According to Amit Tiwari, the information officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, 56,066,000 liters of soybean oil worth 11 billion 99 crore 18 lakh rupees were exported in the first six months of the current fiscal year. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, only 101,300 liters of processed soybean oil worth 3 crore 11 lakh rupees were exported. Due to the ease of exporting processed soybean and sunflower oil to neighboring India, the export has significantly increased in India, as per the information officer.
"There has been a noticeable improvement in the export of processed oil to India," said Information Officer Tiwari. He further stated that along with soybean oil, the export of sunflower oil has also increased. In the first six months of the current fiscal year, 22,845,000 liters worth 3 billion 21 crore 91 lakh rupees of processed sunflower oil were exported, which is higher than the previous year. In the same period of the last year, the sunflower oil was exported worth 9 crore 94 lakh 10 thousand rupees, as reported by the office.
