Amid ongoing monsoon rains, Udayapur’s District Administration Office has issued a flood alert for communities living near the Saptakoshi River.
The warning, issued by Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Luitel, urges locals to stay cautious as rising water levels from continuous rainfall in the hills and Himalayas could lead to sudden flooding.
Residents have been advised to limit travel, especially at night, and to be extremely careful while driving in areas prone to landslides or waterlogging.
This comes as several regions across Nepal face growing risks from monsoon-triggered disasters, including floods and glacial lake outbursts, prompting increased calls for preparedness and caution.
