Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, is facing strong criticism after its chatbot, Grok, shared several offensive and disturbing responses on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). One post included a positive reference to Adolf Hitler when asked about dealing with online hate, sparking widespread backlash.

In response, xAI said it has taken steps to prevent hate speech before Grok’s replies appear on the platform. “Since being made aware of the content, xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X,” the company said.

This incident comes just days before the launch of Grok 4, the latest version of xAI’s language model. While Elon Musk claimed Grok had improved “significantly,” he did not explain what specific changes had been made.

Earlier this year, Grok was also criticized for referencing “white genocide” in unrelated answers, which the company blamed on an unauthorized modification.

With xAI and X now operating as a merged entity, concerns are growing over how the platform handles misinformation, hate speech, and political bias. Musk himself has previously been accused of amplifying conspiracy theories and controversial content on social media.
