The House of Representatives is scheduled to meet today at 11 am. The last meeting on Tuesday ended early on due to a standoff between the ruling and opposition parties with the latter demanding Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak's resignation in the wake of the visit visa scandal.
The Federal Parliament Secretariat has released a tentative schedule of the session slated for May 28. Ramhari Khatiwada, chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, is to present the committee’s report on the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2023 whereas Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel is to present the Economic Survey for the fiscal year 2081-82. In addition, the meeting will include a clause-by-clause discussion and possible approval of the Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Land, 2025.
Kusumdevi Thapa, the chairperson of the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee, is also scheduled to present her committee’s Annual Report for 2025. Time will also be given for ministers to answer questions related to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Health and Population.
