The meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) scheduled for Monday has been postponed to Wednesday, as the deadlock between the ruling and opposition parties continues.
According to the Parliament Secretariat, the meeting was set to begin at 3:35 PM but could not take place due to the failure to reach a consensus. It has now been rescheduled for Wednesday at 1:00 PM.
The main opposition and several other parties have been obstructing House proceedings for the past few days. Their key demands include the formation of a parliamentary investigation committee to probe the recent visa scam, and the resignation of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane to ensure a fair investigation.
Despite several rounds of discussions between Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire, ruling coalition leaders, and opposition representatives, no agreement has been reached so far.
As the political impasse deepens, the legislative process remains stalled, raising concerns about governance and accountability.
