Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has announced that the government will take steps to nominate the Gadhimai Temple in Bariyarpur, Bara District, for inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.

Highlighting the temple's cultural and religious importance, Minister Lekhak emphasized that this recognition could help showcase Nepal on the global stage.

“The government is fully committed to preserving the Gadhimai Temple and its heritage,” he stated during discussions with local officials and security leaders.

In preparation for the upcoming Gadhimai fair, the Minister stressed the need for robust security arrangements. He instructed the Chief District Officer to ensure the deployment of additional security personnel to manage the expected large number of devotees.

Minister Lekhak also urged the Gadhimai fair organizing committee to install CCTV cameras to enhance safety and convenience for visitors during the event.

Discussions with Chief District Officers and security officials were held to finalize security plans, underscoring the government's focus on both heritage conservation and effective event management.
