Home Minister Omprakash Aryal held a courtesy meeting with the newly appointed Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Nepal, Lila Peters Yahiyabi, at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 

During the meeting, Minister Aryal expressed gratitude for the UN’s support to Nepal in areas such as governance reform, climate change, and capacity building at the local level. He also expressed confidence that cooperation with the United Nations would deepen further in the coming days.

 

Resident Coordinator Peters Yahiyabi assured that the UN would continue its collaboration with the Government of Nepal and expressed interest in expanding support in areas such as narcotics control, border security, and human trafficking.

 

At the meeting, Minister Aryal also highlighted that the government is working vigorously to ensure peace and security during the upcoming House of Representatives election on Falgun 21, aiming for a safe, fear-free, and fair election that strengthens democratic institutions.
