Heavy Rainfall Forecast in Several Provinces, Authorities Urge Caution

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast heavy rainfall in parts of the country today, except for Madhesh Province. Many areas have already seen rainfall since last night.

According to the department, heavy showers are likely in isolated areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces during the day, while Koshi and parts of Sudurpaschim may experience heavy rain at night. Other regions are expected to see light to moderate rainfall.

The monsoon trough is currently positioned near its average location, with moisture-laden winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal fuelling the weather system.

Authorities have warned of possible floods and landslides due to the rains and urged the public to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
