Heavy Rain Prompts Nighttime Vehicle Ban on BP Highway

Continuous rainfall and the growing threat of floods have led authorities in Kavrepalanchok and Sindhuli to restrict nighttime traffic along the BP Highway.

The Kavrepalanchok District Administration Office announced that vehicle movement between Kavre Bhanjyang and Sindhuli will remain closed from 5 PM Thursday to 6 AM Friday. Officials added that vehicles may be stopped at any time if the Roshi River or nearby streams overflow.

The Sindhuli administration has also imposed a similar restriction from 5 PM to 6 AM on October 30 and 31 along the Khurkot Bazaar–Kathmandu section of the highway. Depending on weather conditions, daytime travel may also be halted temporarily for safety.

Local authorities have urged drivers to remain cautious, warning that ongoing heavy rain has raised the risk of flash floods and landslides along key river sections.
