Govt Aims To Systematize Cooperative Sector: Minister Gurung

Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, stated that the cooperative sector in Nepal has suffered due to the wrongdoings of a few cooperatives. 

He assured that the government is taking steps to regulate and improve the sector. Speaking at the 14th annual general assembly of Sustainable Tourism Cooperatives, Gurung shared that a new ordinance has been issued to amend laws related to cooperatives, aiming to make them more systematic. 

The ordinance includes the establishment of a National Cooperative Regulatory Authority to ensure transparency and effectiveness. Gurung also mentioned that efforts are underway to bring those responsible for embezzling funds from cooperatives to justice.
