Government Is Dedicated To Safeguard Nation's Border

Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak has assured that the government is dedicated to protecting the nation's land and borders.

Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives' State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, he emphasized that it is the state's responsibility to safeguard its territory. The Minister also addressed the issue of Indian citizens farming on land in Shuklaphanta, Kanchanpur, saying the government is seeking a diplomatic solution. 

He confirmed that the government is aware of the use of land in Shuklaphanta National Park by Indian citizens and is working through diplomatic channels to resolve the matter. While there is no border dispute, efforts are being made to install border pillars through bilateral discussions.
