The building of the Thame Post Office in Sagarmatha National Park, Solukhumbu, has been damaged due to the earthquake.
According to Sushma Rana, the chief conservation officer of the park, the building in Thametyang, Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-5, has developed cracks due to the earthquake. The single-story building, made of stone, was housing two employees.
According to Chief District Officer Anoj Kumar Ghimire, the earthquake has caused damage to one house each in the areas of Deusa, Kharkhola, and Khumbu's Thame. Local administration and security agencies have started monitoring the affected areas and collecting details of the damages.
The earthquake occurred at 6:50 AM today, with a magnitude of 6.8, centered in Dingyi County of the Tibet Autonomous Region in China.
