Foreign Minister Dr. Deuba Urges Israel To Secure Release Of Bipin Joshi

Foreign Minister Dr. Arjun Rana Deuba has appealed the Israeli government to work for the release of Nepali student Bipin Joshi. In an meeting with Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Samueli Eri Bass on Wednesday, Minister Dr. Deuba requested to take some steps to secure his release from Hamas control.   

She also sought information about the 34 individuals that Hamas had abducted, and news had emerged that they were being prepared for release.
Ambassador Bass informed Dr. Rana that the Israeli government had sent a list to Hamas a few months ago. Hamas is preparing to release 34 individuals, and news suggests that the first phase of the release will involve women, children, and the elderly.
In October 2023,  the Palestinian Hamas group attacked Israeli territory, killing over 1,000 people, including 10 Nepali nationals. Shortly after the attack, several individuals were abducted, including Bipin Joshi. 

Given this, the Nepalese government has urged for Bipin Joshi's release as part of this initiative. The Nepalese government continues its diplomatic efforts for his release, urging the international community through the United Nations and various international and regional forums. 

Foreign Minister Dr. Rana has consistently asked for the international community's support in securing Bipin's release.
