The government has warned teachers, professors, and school staff not to get involved in political activities. Education, Science, and Technology Minister Mahavir Pun said anyone found participating in politics could face strict action, including dismissal.

Minister Pun said educational staff must follow professional ethics and maintain peace in schools and universities. He added that political activities that go against these responsibilities will be dealt with according to the law.

The ministry has also decided not to recognize teacher or staff organizations that are politically involved. Minister Pun urged all educational associations to stay independent, non-political, and professional, and to restructure their organizations if needed.

The move aims to keep schools and universities free from political influence and ensure professionalism in Nepal’s education system.
