The government has decided to recall 11 ambassadors appointed during the tenure of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, marking a major diplomatic reshuffle.

 

According to Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, the Cabinet meeting held on Thursday at Singha Durbar made the decision to bring back ambassadors serving in China, Germany, Malaysia, Israel, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan.

 

The recalled envoys have been instructed to return to Nepal by Kartik 20 (November 5). However, the ambassador to India has not been recalled.

 

Minister Kharel also said the Cabinet approved a $10 million grant from the World Bank aimed at strengthening public financial management.
