Gold prices in Nepal surged to a record high on Thursday, surpassing Rs 250,000 per tola for the first time.
The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations (FENEGOSIDA) reported fine gold trading at Rs 250,900 per tola, up Rs 2,000 from Wednesday.
Silver also climbed, reaching Rs 3,275 per tola, up Rs 35 from the previous day.
Analysts attribute the rise to global economic uncertainties, inflation, and a weakening domestic currency, which are boosting demand for safe-haven assets.
