Hamas said it has returned all hostage bodies it could access so far, reaffirming commitment to the US-mediated ceasefire. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office confirmed receiving the bodies via the Red Cross and said they were awaiting formal identification’, BBC reported.
US President Donald Trump warned that Israeli forces could resume military action if Hamas fails to meet the agreement’s terms. However, US officials said Hamas had shown good faith, returning all 20 live hostages and continuing efforts to locate the remaining deceased.
If verified, 19 hostages are still unaccounted for. Under the deal, Hamas must return 28 dead hostages, while Israel is required to hand over Palestinian bodies in exchange.
Meanwhile, the BBC also reported growing tension in Gaza, where food prices have surged as residents fear the ceasefire could collapse. UN officials urged Israel to open all crossings for aid, warning that civilians must not be used as leverage in negotiations.
