To strengthen agricultural commercialization, the government has enforced the ‘Program Implementation Procedures, 2082 BS’, targeting the promotion of honey, bee products and mushroom farming.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development said the new guidelines will support farmers and entrepreneurs in marketing their products locally and internationally, while expanding domestic and global markets. The procedures also focus on sharing modern technology, scientific knowledge and best practices in beekeeping and mushroom cultivation.

Under the program, Nepali honey and bee products will be displayed and sold, and interaction sessions will be held among stakeholders. The National Honey Fair and Festival will be jointly organized by the Nepal Beekeepers Federation and the Nepal Beekeepers Central Cooperative Association.

The initiative also includes crop development and agricultural biodiversity conservation programs to make the sector more sustainable and market-oriented.
