Prime Minister Sushila Karki is scheduled to hold talks with the top leaders of the three major political parties on Saturday regarding the House of Representatives (HoR) election set for March 5.
She will meet CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and Nepali Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal at 4 pm. The discussions aim to help create a favorable environment for holding the elections.
The government has stepped up consultations with political parties to build consensus ahead of the polls. Earlier, a similar meeting involving the Prime Minister and the three leaders was held at Sheetal Niwas under the chairmanship of President Ram Chandra Paudel.
On Friday, Minister for Communication and Information
Technology Jagdish Kharel also met Nepali Congress President Deuba and later held talks with CPN-UML Chair Oli as part of ongoing efforts to reach political understanding before the elections.
