Gen Z Protest Probe: Ex-PMs Deuba, Dahal Asked for Written Clarifications

As the probe into the September 8–9 Gen Z protests deepens, a high-level investigation commission has sought written explanations from former prime ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba and Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

The commission, led by former justice Gauri Bahadur Karki, has sent separate questionnaires to both leaders, seeking clarification on their personal understanding, experiences, and contacts during the protest period. 

Commissioner Bigyan Raj Sharma said the inputs are expected to add depth and credibility to the final report.

Meanwhile, the commission is preparing to summon then prime minister KP Sharma Oli for a statement. A formal letter is being drafted, although Oli has publicly ruled out appearing before the panel, openly rejecting the commission’s request.
