Four Dead as Jeep Trips Into Live Wire En Route to Pathibhara

Four people died and two got injured when a jeep (registration number Me 1 Cha 3011) bound for the Pathibhara temple in Taplejung district caught fire after tripping into a live electric cable hanging from a pole near Sewaro Chowk, Taplejung, at around 4 am on Sunday morning. Taplejung police identified the deceased as jeep driver Durga Bhattarai (42) of Furumbu, Fungling municipality-10 (Taplejung), Aradhya Paudel (16) of Lalitpur Metropolis-10, Binod Paudel (70) and Sarita Paudel (69) of Bhadrapur municipality-15, Jhapa.

Bhavimaya Paudel (10) and Sabina Paudel (45) of Lalitpur-10 have sustained injuries in the accident. Sabina is the mother of Aradhya and Bhavimaya and daughter of Binod and Sarita. 

Sabina has sustained critical injuries while Bhavimaya has sustained minor injuries. According to police, the two have been airlifted to HAMS Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment.
