Former King Gyanendra Shah participated in the ceremony at the Thousand Buddha Temple established in Lumbini, on Friday. Shah participated in the Prana Pratishtha Puja held at the Phal Thubten Sedup Ling Monastery (Thousand Buddha Temple) in the Western Vihar of Lumbini. Buddhist Guru Choki Nima Rinpoche welcomed former King Shah. He was also greeted by other Buddhist spiritual leaders. Before the arrival of former King, the statues of the Thousand Buddhas at the monastery were inaugurated by Rinpoche and Dr. Lharkyal Lama, Vice Chairman of the Lumbini Development Trust.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Buddhist Guru Nima Rinpoche said that the construction of the Thousand Buddhas Mahavihar was made possible through the donations of people from both Nepal and abroad. He emphasized that the preservation of the temple is a collective responsibility.

Similarly, Dr. Lharkyal Lama, Vice Chairman of the Trust, stated that the construction of a large monastery in Lumbini is a matter of pride for Nepal and peace-loving people worldwide.
