Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak is appearing before the investigation commission today to give his statement regarding the incidents of September 8 and 9.
Lekhak, who was Home Minister during the Gen-Z movement, has been accused of ordering security forces to open fire on protesting students. The interim government led by Sushila Karki, formed after the protests, has summoned him for questioning.
According to commission sources, Lekhak has been asked to record his statement at 12 noon. He is expected to answer questions about what happened during the protests and explain his role in the events.
After completing his statement, Lekhak is scheduled to speak to the media. Sources say he will hold a press briefing at Singha Durbar after 2 pm.
