FJAN Starts Fund for Dinesh Sitaula

The Film Journalists Association of Nepal (FJAN) has started a revolving fund of Rs 1 million in memory of its former president Dinesh Sitaula. The fund was announced on the 13th day after his death.

FJAN made this announcement during a memorial programme held on Friday.

FJAN President Samir Balami said that the association will organize a special programme every year on February 1 to remember late Sitaula.

He also said that the fund has been created to provide the Dinesh Sitaula Film Journalist Memorial Award during FJAN’s annual celebration.

During the programme, Dinesh DC, Chairperson of the Film Development Board (FDB), remembered Sitaula’s contribution to Nepali films and film journalism. He requested everyone to support the fund and announced that the FDB would contribute Rs 51,000.

Similarly, Mohan Niraula, President of FJAN, also paid tribute to Sitaula. He described him as a friendly, helpful, and positive person. He also promised to personally donate Rs 10,000 to the fund.

Many people present at the memorial programme also paid tribute to Sitaula, who died on February 1 at the age of around 40.

Several people and organizations from the Nepali film sector also donated money to the fund. These include former FJAN President Bidur Giri and senior film journalists Dhruba Lamsal and Jayan Subba Manandhar, among others.
