NCC representatives from five countries paid a courtesy call on Sushila Karki at Baluwatar under the Youth Exchange Programme, aiming to strengthen regional friendship and youth cooperation.

Under the Youth Exchange Programme, delegations of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) from Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bhutan and the Maldives paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushila Karki at Baluwatar.
The delegations met Prime Minister Karki at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar. The visiting teams included a 20-member delegation from India, a 12-member delegation from Pakistan, a 9-member delegation from Bhutan and a 5-member delegation from the Maldives.
Prime Minister Karki expressed her confidence that the programme would further strengthen friendship, mutual understanding and youth-level cooperation among the participating nations. She also extended her best wishes for a pleasant and memorable stay in Nepal.
Armed forces of various countries conduct training and exchange programmes with the objective of producing disciplined, responsible, dutiful and capable young leaders. The National Cadet Corps Nepal provides annual junior and senior division training to around 7,710 secondary and higher secondary level students.
Nepal has been operating reciprocal youth exchange programmes with the service corps of friendly nations. Under the programme, outstanding cadets are sent on mutual exchange visits to Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Pakistan, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
