Five important parliamentary committees will meet today at Singha Durbar to discuss key national issues.
At 11:00 am, the Development, Economic Affairs, and Good Governance Committee will discuss how to better manage Nepal's betel nut exports, aiming to improve trade practices and support local farmers.
The Federalism Enablement and National Concerns Committee will meet at 11:30 am to review issues related to forests and national parks, focusing on balancing development with conservation in national pride projects.
At 12:00 pm, the Women and Social Affairs Committee will assess its progress on suicide prevention measures and look at ways to strengthen mental health support across the country.
At 1:00 pm, the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee will meet to discuss proposed amendments to the bill governing the federal civil service, aimed at improving governance and working conditions within the service.
Also at 1:00 pm, the Legislative Management Committee will consult with stakeholders on the Nepal Legal Practitioners Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2024, to improve the regulatory framework for legal practitioners in Nepal.
