Election Preparations Intensify in Sarlahi; 3,768 Staff to be Deployed

Preparations in Sarlahi have been intensified for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21.

 

Rishiram Paudel, District Election Officer, stated that all election materials except the ballots have already arrived at the District Election Office in Malangwa. All materials, whether received from the Election Commission or purchased through the GTG process, are being packed in the presence of security personnel. Once packing is completed, the materials will be sent to the respective election officer’s office ahead of voting. Ballots for all four constituencies are expected to arrive only after Falgun 10.

 

Across the district’s four constituencies, 312 polling sites have been designated, comprising 628 polling centers. A total of 3,768 staff will be deployed for this election. Each center will have one chief polling officer, one assistant chief polling officer, and three assistant staff, with the possibility of deploying two local helpers if required, according to Chief Election Officer Pushparaj Thapaliya.

 

The assignment of staff to polling centers and their training is already underway. Election security measures have also been strengthened. According to Chief District Officer Ramuraj Kadariya, additional personnel from the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force are being deployed from Kathmandu and other units.

 

With government machinery fully engaged, election-related activity is picking up across the district.
