Durga Prasai, coordinator of the “Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizen Protection Mega Campaign” and a medical entrepreneur, was arrested by police on Monday evening.
Police detained Prasai from his residence in Bhaktapur and took him to the police complex in Bhadra Kali.
According to police, surveillance had been increased on him over suspicions that he could engage in activities aimed at disrupting the upcoming election scheduled for Falgun 21. He was arrested based on those concerns.
Earlier, on Magh 23, Prasai had also been arrested but was later released on bail.
