The Nepal Medical Association has announced that all doctors will stop non-emergency services at government and private hospitals, medical colleges, and clinics from today.
In a statement, the association said doctors will only provide emergency and intensive care services.
The protest is happening because resident (PG-level) doctors have not received their living allowance and are facing threats in some places, according to the association.
For the past few days, PG doctors have been protesting against private medical colleges for not paying their allowance.
Doctors also protested yesterday, saying they are being exploited. They are demanding the allowance fixed by the Medical Education Commission for them.
