Kathmandu, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the well known players of cricket revealed the prestigious and gorgeous trophy of Nepal Premiere League on Monday, 25th November near Dharahara. At the event, the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli highlighted this event as a significant day for Nepali cricket. This day will forever highlight the player's dreams and inspires future generations. It is said that the trophy includes a stone brought from the place named 'Kalapaththar'. Kalapaththar is a popular trekking destination for climbers near Mt. Everest. The Nepal Premier League is set to begin on November 30 at TU ground, Kirtipur. It is organized by Cricket Association of Nepal for the first time. TU ground is undergoing for some upgrades that includes the setting of digital scoreboard, side screen, VIP seating and so on.
The game will be played by total eight teams, two teams from Bagmati Province and other teams from remaining provinces. Some of the competing teams of NPL comprises Chitwan Rhinos, Biratnagar Kings, Kathmandu Gurkhas, Pokhara Avengers, Lumbini Lions, Karnali Yaks, and many more. The trophy looks truly amazing. There must be a lot of hard work behind its creation. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stated with confidence that the Nepal Premiere League will become the best way to enhance the tourism. Beyond promoting tourism, NPL will provide the opportunity for players to showcase their talents in the international arena. Moreover, the PM said the government and his support is always with the players for the development of the sports sector whether he is in government or not.
Cricket is not just a game for Nepali people. It signifies national pride and discipline. During the event, PM Oli suggested the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to organize a special women's NPL league in the near future through which Nepali young girls can be more empowered.
