Colombia has agreed to bring back its citizens who illegally went to the United States. Earlier, Colombia had not allowed two military planes carrying illegal immigrants from the U.S. to land.
After that, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to increase taxes by 25%, later 50%, and also impose travel restrictions. Following this, Colombia agreed to bring back its citizens who had illegally entered the U.S.
After Trump’s warning, Colombia agreed to send planes to Honduras, a U.S. ally, to bring the immigrants back, according to BBC.
In response to Trump's warning, Colombia's President Gustavo Petro accused the U.S. of not treating immigrants respectfully on social media. He also announced a 25% increase in taxes on U.S. goods. However, later, Colombia decided to back down from this decision.
