Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development, Kul Man Ghising, has unveiled a campaign titled “Let’s Build Our Structures Ourselves” to mobilize support from the government, as well as Nepalis at home and abroad, for the reconstruction of infrastructure damaged during the recent Gen-Z protests.
Alongside the campaign, the minister has directed authorities to immediately remove the burnt vehicles scattered across the Singha Durbar premises, repaint government buildings that suffered minor fire damage, and assess the overall losses.
Ghising stressed that the nation’s central office must not be allowed to appear neglected. “The damaged vehicles have left the complex looking unsightly. They must be cleared right away so that Singha Durbar reflects dignity and order,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Urban Development has already formed a taskforce to evaluate the scale of destruction under its jurisdiction.
