Israeli forces launched a series of heavy airstrikes on Gaza City early yesterday, signaling a possible escalation of ground operations amid the worsening humanitarian situation.

According to Palestinian sources, the attacks involved warplanes, drones, artillery, and helicopters. Israeli media reported strikes on over 35 locations, including Al-Sabra, Al-Daraj, Sheikh Radwan, Al-Shati refugee camp, and Tal Al-Hawa.

The blasts were reportedly audible as far away as Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Health officials in Gaza confirmed that the attacks have killed multiple civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, and left dozens injured.

The Gaza Civil Defense reported that three homes near the General Security Intersection in the northern part of the city were struck. Additional shelling was reported in the northwestern neighborhoods of Al-Mukhbarat, Al-Karama, and Al-Makousi.

The intensifying strikes come amid fears of further escalation and growing concerns for the safety of civilians trapped in the conflict zones.
