Biratnagar Kings have secured their second victory in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament, keeping their hopes of reaching the playoffs alive until the final match. In contrast, Chitwan Rhinos, who lost by 51 runs, now face increased difficulties in their quest for a playoff spot.
In the second match of the day on Friday, Biratnagar Kings won the toss and chose to bat first, setting a strong target of 182 runs for Chitwan Rhinos.
Batting first, Biratnagar posted a total of 181/5 in their 20 overs, with Basir Ahmad leading the way with 68 runs from 44 balls, including 4 fours and 4 sixes and Martin Guptill contributed 45 runs.
In response, Chitwan Rhinos managed only 130 runs in 20 overs, losing 6 wickets. Amar Routela was the top scorer for Chitwan with 42 runs. Apart from him, Kushal Malla scored 25 runs, Ravi Bopara made 20 runs, and Santosh Karki contributed 28 runs.
Biratnagar Kings will look to build on this win, while Chitwan Rhinos need to bounce back in their remaining matches to keep their playoff hopes alive.
