Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, Balendra Sah, has stated that villages located near forests should be relocated.

Speaking with party workers on Sunday, he emphasized that the government of Nepal should adopt a policy to move villages situated at the edges of forests. He suggested that the land possessed by residents should be equally provided at the new location during relocation.

He said, “The policy of the Government of Nepal should be such that villages living near forests are relocated. Whatever land they currently have, five aana, two ropani, or whatever the amount, the government should provide equivalent land at another location. People should not be kept right next to the forest.”

He stressed that humans should not be settled close to forested areas.
