Voting has begun across all seven provinces for the vacant seats of the National Assembly.
According to the Provincial Election Office in Biratnagar, the voting process in Koshi Province started at 9:00 am today. Of the 18 National Assembly seats that will fall vacant from Falgun 20, one seat under the Khas Arya group from Koshi Province has already been filled, with Nepali Congress candidate Sunil Bahadur Thapa elected unopposed.
Voting is currently underway for the remaining two seats in Koshi Province, representing the women and Dalit groups. The polling station has been set up at the Provincial Election Office premises in Biratnagar, Morang. Voting will continue until 3:00 pm.
Members of the Provincial Assembly and representatives of local levels are participating in the voting process. Nationwide, 44 candidates are competing for 17 National Assembly seats.
