Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) senior leader and House of Representatives candidate from Jhapa–5, Balen Shah, has arrived in Ilam to continue his campaign in eastern Nepal.
Shah, who is considered a potential future prime minister by his party, reached Ilam on Thursday morning. He had filed his nomination in Jhapa on Tuesday and spent Wednesday meeting voters in the district before traveling to Ilam.
In Ilam, Shah met RSP candidates at the party’s local office in Ilam Bazaar. He spoke with Bimal Gadal, the candidate from Ilam–1, and Gokul Bahadur Rai, the candidate from Ilam–2.
Many locals and supporters gathered to see Shah, take photos, and have brief interactions with him.
The party said Shah will travel to Panchthar later today and take part in a public program in Phidim as part of RSP’s election campaign in the eastern hills.
