Bahudarmai CAO Ajay Srivastava Arrested for Financial Misconduct

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Ajay Kumar Srivastava, the acting Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Bahudarmai Municipality in Parsa district, for suspected financial wrongdoing.

According to the CIAA, Srivastava approved projects, gave purchase orders, and awarded contracts without following proper legal steps. He is also accused of breaking rules and harming the reputation of the office.

He was caught on Friday in the Bypass area of Birgunj, along with important documents. After the arrest, more police were sent from the District Police Office (DPO), Parsa. The Chief of DPO, SP Gautam Mishra, confirmed the extra security after hearing about the operation.

The CIAA has not officially spoken yet, but sources say Srivastava will be taken to Kathmandu for further legal action after the initial paperwork is done.
