Police have arrested Gopal Shahi, a newly-elected leader of the Free Students' Union (Amrit Science Campus), and five others for taking a police recruitment exam in Kathmandu by impersonating.
On Sunday, Kathmandu police made Shahi, a leader of the ruling CPN-UML's student wing, and five other arrestees—Mohan Sunuwar from Dolakha, Manoj Sharma from Surkhet, Akash Khadka from Dailekh, Umesh Sharma from Surkhet, and Min Rawal from Jumla—public.
These people had taken the exam conducted by Nepal Police Headquarters at Ratna Rajya School in New Baneshwar, Kathmandu, on behalf of other candidates on Saturday by using their admit cards and other official documents.
After his arrest, the FSU (Amrit Science Campus) has removed Shahi from his position.
The case is under investigation, police said.
