Cabinet Meets at 5 PM Over Teachers’ Demands, New Governor

A Cabinet meeting is scheduled for today at 5 PM, where a decision is expected on how to address the demands of the protesting teachers.

The Ministry of Education is preparing a proposal to present at the meeting. This proposal aims to solve the demands of the teachers, who have been protesting in Kathmandu for the past 20 days at the call of the Nepal Teachers’ Federation.

The ministry's seven-point proposal is likely to meet the teachers’ demands, and the protest may end after the Cabinet makes its decision.

Meanwhile, discussions about appointing a new Governor are still ongoing. The Cabinet will make a decision once the three-member recommendation committee under Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel submits the names of three potential candidates for the leadership of the central bank, Nepal Rastra Bank.
