The world is observing World Mental Health Day 2025 today, renewing global attention on the importance of mental well-being and the need for stronger psychological support systems.
First launched in 1992, the day serves as a reminder that mental health is an integral part of overall health, and addressing it is crucial to building resilient communities.
This year’s observance also stresses the importance of providing psychosocial counseling and rapid mental health assistance during crises, including natural disasters, armed conflicts, and public health emergencies.
The United Nations has urged governments, political leaders, educators, and community organizations to work collectively to expand access to mental health care and reduce stigma surrounding psychological conditions.
Similarly, the World Health Organization (WHO) has reiterated its long-standing message that “a healthy mind leads to a healthy body,” calling on all member states to invest more in prevention, awareness, and early intervention.
