India’s Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has decided to step down from his position to focus on his health. As reported by news agency ANI, he made this decision based on his doctors’ advice.

Dhankhar sent his resignation letter to President Droupadi Murmu, saying that he needs to take care of his health and follow medical guidance. He mentioned that stepping away from his duties was a difficult but necessary choice.

In his letter, he also expressed heartfelt thanks to the President, Prime Minister, and the Council of Ministers for their support throughout his time in office.

Dhankhar became Vice President in 2022 and was set to serve until 2025. However, due to ongoing health concerns, he chose to leave the position early.

With his resignation, preparations for electing a new Vice President will begin soon, as confirmed by the Vice President’s office.
