A delegation led by Chen Xiaodong, Chairman of China’s International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today for a courtesy call at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the long-standing friendly relations between Nepal and China, the four bilateral agreements signed on Monday at the Ministry of Finance, and the implementation of past development cooperation agreements made during high-level visits.

Prime Minister Oli reaffirmed Nepal's commitment to the One-China policy and thanked China for giving priority to rebuilding infrastructure at the Rasuwagadhi border point, which was damaged by recent floods. He also said that the Nepali side is working with urgency on its part.

Oli emphasized the need to make Nepal a land-linked country by improving the operation of other border points like Kimathanka and by moving forward without delays on projects under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) framework.

The meeting was attended by PM’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Earlier on Monday, the Chinese delegation also met Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel to discuss development cooperation. On the same occasion, both sides signed agreements on four new projects supported by China.
